Managerial Merry go round and round and round

Fiorentina have sacked head coach Vincenzo Montella and accused him of a “lack of respect”.

Montella, 40, had two years to run on his contract but has been linked with Napoli and AC Milan  after guiding Fiorentina to fourth in Serie A.

Officials acted after accusing Montella of a lack of commitment.

“We would have expected to see the coach behave in a clearer, more respectful and less ambiguous manner,” said a Fiorentina statement.

Former Roma and Italy striker Montella was appointed by Fiorentina in 2012 after they sacked Delio Rossi for attacking his own player Adem Ljajic in a spat over a substitution.

Fiorentina have finished fourth in Serie A in each of the three seasons he has been in charge.

The club will compete in the Europa League group stage next season.

Montella’s playing career also included a loan spell at Fulham in 2007 when he was at Roma.

Meanwhile in East London, West Ham should be 24 hours away from finally announcing their new Manager with it set to be as it’s always been ex Hammer Slaven Bilic. The Croatian has been firmly in the frame ever since he announced his departure from Turkish club Fenerbahce but it’s almost as if West Ham have done their best not to sign up Slaven Bilic. If you were to believe everything you read in the papers then the snub list would currently look like this:

Carlo Ancelotti

Jurgen Klopp

Unai Emery

So I guess there’s nothing positive like getting your 4th favourite candidate installed as manager of the club is there?
