After demoting Phil Neville from his backroom staff in a bid to flex his muscle and be given the job full time at the end of the season he would have done his chances no real favours after defeat away at Las Palmas.
The defeat sees Valencia slip further down the table and they are now 15th in La Liga, 6 points from the drop zone. They would probably need two more wins between now and the end of the season to make their La Liga status safe it what has been a forgettable season.
