Wales Manager Chris Coleman has named a 29 man provisional squad for next month’s European Championships with the shock news being that Gareth Bale has been left out….until after the Champions League Final. A precautionary measure one would imagine but even if god forbid Bale was injured then you would still expect Coleman to play him even if he had to drag him from Madrid himself
One player who may miss out on injury and would be a key absence would be Crystal Palace Midfielder Joe Ledley. He picked up a broken leg in the win against Stoke a fortnight ago and although he has been named in the provisional squad you do have to wonder if he will win the race to be fit for the tournament
Although Chris Coleman has offered Ledley some form of a lifeline by saying that even if Ledley is only fit for the remaining two group games then that would still be enough to warrant a place in the final 23
Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey is one of 11 Premier League based players and he is in Midfield alongside Joe Allen and Leicester title winner Andy King. While Swansea Defenders Ashley Williams and Neil Taylor are among the defensive ranks. The full provisional squad is named below
