The Value Of Silva Plummets Rapidly

Watford are now looking for a new manager after the news that they have sacked Marco Silva this morning (Sunday). The Vicarage Road outfit may well be 10th in the table at present but they have taken just five points from 33 and that run of form has meant the Pozzo family who own the club have pulled the trigger once again.

Vicarage Road is not a place which is known as one that offers long managerial tenures and the stint of Marco Silva is no different, however you could well argue that he only has himself to blame as things have not been well since Everton’s attempt to snare the former Hull boss for themselves back in October.

Since then Watford’s form has gone south and we’ve seen something reminiscing the Silva sulker as it seemed apparent that after having his head turned by the Mersyeside outfit he then did not show the same passion for being the Hornets boss.

It is far too big a coincidence that Watford’s season has hit the skids since Everton’s flirting with Silva and now the club hierarchy have decided that the only course of action in which to stop the rot is to change the managerial personnel.

10th the maybe but they are only five points off the drop at present as the teams below them are gradually eroding the comfortable buffer that Watford had, instead of looking up the table they are now very much looking over their shoulders.

The last two seasons have seen the club slump like a stone after Christmas and just about manage to keep their heads above water, a slump that has ultimately gone on to cost both Quique Sanchez Flores and Walter Mazzarri their jobs.

Silva did not even get a whole season and it is fair to say that his value has tanked dramatically, if this was the Stock Market you would be trying to shift what investments you had in this man. Watford certainly have as the search for a new manager begins once again.
