Sweden’s Euro 2016 squad announced

Sweden Manager Erik Hamren hasn’t felt the need to name a provisional squad for this Summer’s European Championship he has taken the step of naming his 23 man squad from the outset.

Of course the mercurial Zlatan Ibrahimovic is there, it wouldn’t be a Sweden side without him. He played his last game for PSG at the Weekend and now the question is where will he be playing his Football next season. We won’t know that until after the tournament so for now we will have to make do with Zlatan showing his talents on the world stage.

There’s not much in the way of Premier League representation which is quite rare for a Sweden squad. Sunderland Midfielder Sebastian Larsson will arrive to the squad on the back of staying up while Norwich Defender Martin Olsson arrives on the back of being relegated. Those two may have to stay clear of each other in training. Arsenal fans may remember Kim Kallstrom who had a pretty forgettable loan spell last season then again they may not

Celtic fans will obviously be keeping an eye for the performances of Mikael Lustig and there will also see a familiar face in Striker John Guidetti who spent last season on loan at Celtic Park. Guidetti is now plying his trade at Celta Vigo after seemingly being perennially on loan across Europe.

Below is the squad in full.

Goalkeepers: Andreas Isaksson (Kasimpasa), Robin Olsen (Copenhagen), Patrik Carlgren (AIK).

Defenders: Ludwig Augustinsson (Copenhagen), Erik Johansson (Copenhagen), Pontus Jansson (Torino), Victor Lindelof (Benfica) Andreas Granqvist (Krasnodar), Mikael Lustig (Celtic), Martin Olsson (Norwich).

Forwards: Marcus Berg (Panathinaikos), John Guidetti (Celta Vigo), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Paris), Emir Kujovic (Norrkoping).
