Poland’s Euro 2016 squad announced

Poland Manager Adam Nawalka has named a provisional 28 man squad for the European Championships in France this Summer. Undoubtedly the star name is Robert Lewandowski who has guided Bayern Munich to a 4th straight Bundesliga title this season. Manager Nawalka will be hoping that Lewandowski has saved some of that form for next month.  Bundesliga fans will also spot Lukasz Piszczek of Borussia Dortmund in the squad who will take one of the Defensive berths.

In Goal it has a very Premier League feel with Artur Boruc, Lukasz Fabianski and Wojcjech Szczesny all registered with English clubs the question that will hang over Szczesny is whether he stays at Roma after the tournament. If he does start the opening game for Poland then he will have to hope it’s better than the 2012 opener when he was sent off for as Poland played hosts, not the best way to kick off the tournament. Also with the amount of mistakes that Artur Boruc has made for Bournemouth this season, will that be enough to warrant a place in the final 23.

In Midfield the key man are Fiorentina’s Jakub Blaszczykowski and Sevilla’s Grzegorz Krychowiak. The latter could be joining the squad on the back of Europa League glory, that is if his Sevilla can beat Liverpool and secure an unprecedented hat-trick of Europa League trophies and extend their already record haul to 5
