In what was the game of the week Sevilla were pitted against Barcelona with both sides looking to close the gap on leaders Real Madrid. Once again Lionel Messi would grab the headlines as he scored his 500th goal for the Catalan giants.

Luis Enrique’s men would close out the game and earn an all important three points to see them close the gap to arch rivals Real Madrid to just two points. For Sevilla that defeat sees them drop to 5th place level on points with Atletico Madrid.
