Premier League: The Fight For Survival

Football fans around the world are discussing the potential Premier League champions. Liverpool and Man City are the two clubs that resurface time and time again. However, what about the teams who are fighting for survival? Will the newly-promoted sides step up and maintain their EPL status at the end of the season?

The latest betting sites on Freetips.com suggest that several teams could be involved in the relegation battle. Sheffield Utd and Aston Villa have both made decent starts. For that reason, a handful of well-established Premier League clubs are at risk. We’ll weigh up each team’s chances of survival below.

Watford

The Hornets have made a dreadful start to the new campaign. Watford are currently at the foot of the table after picking up a mere four points from their opening nine games. There’s plenty of cause for concern at Vicarage Road. Quique Sanchez Flore’s side have lost games against Wolves, West Ham, Everton, Man City, and Brighton so far.

However, we believe that they can still turn things around. Watford need to start picking up points quickly, but if they can get Troy Deeney and Gerard Deulofeu firing, they should start collecting points. Let’s wait and see how their season unfolds.

Norwich City

Premier League newcomers Norwich City made a decent start to the season, but have faded away in recent weeks. Daniel Farke’s team picked up points against Man City and Newcastle. However, the Canaries have been unable to build on their solid foundations.

Finnish striker Teemu Pukki is their main threat, but he can’t keep them in the division by himself. Having said that, several first-team players are missing through injury. Can Norwich turn their fortunes around during the festive period? We certainly think so.

Newcastle United

The Magpies have been struggling for several seasons. We fear the worst for them this time around. The club is a mess at the moment, and fans are outraged with how Mike Ashley is running things. What’s more, Newcastle United are currently in the relegation zone.

There’s no doubt that Steve Bruce’s men can play. They have picked up wins against Man Utd and Tottenham this season, but they seem to struggle against clubs outside the top six. Brazilian forward Joelinton hasn’t made a huge impact since signing from Hoffenheim. If Newcastle are going to stay in the division, he needs to start scoring more regularly.
