Norwich vs Liverpool – Match Preview

Forward Steven Naismith could make his Norwich debut after joining from Everton earlier in the week.

Recent signings Ivo Pinto and Timm Klose could also be involved but Gary O’Neil is suspended and Andre Wisdom is ineligible against his parent club.

Liverpool’s Adam Lallana is doubtful with a muscle problem while Daniel Sturridge remains sidelined.

Full-back Jon Flanagan could feature again after returning from an 18-month knee injury lay-off in midweek.

Editor’s Note: Norwich have been particularly busy in the January Transfer Window and Tomorrow Lunchtime could be when Alex Neil unleashes his new signings in a bid to make sure Norwich stay clear of the drop zone.

The Canaries have lost their last two matches and currently find themselves 16th in the Premier League and two points clear of safety. It seems as if a lack of goals at one end and conceding too many as the other has forced Alex Neil into transfer activity.

They’ve shipped 6 goals in their last two matches so reinforcements seem required at the back but A lot will be asked of Steven Naismith if Norwich are to beat the drop this season and it is hoped that his hits the ground running against his former Merseyside Rivals Liverpool.

Liverpool were victims of a smash and grab on Sunday by their most despised enemies Manchester United. A Wayne Rooney winner being the difference between the two sides in a game where had Liverpool taking what few chances there were in the game they would have had the game wrapped up.

Their league position doesn’t make the best of reading at the moment with Jurgen Klopp’s side currently finding themselves in 9th and 8 points off of Champions League qualification. Inconsistency and a lack of goals have been the downfall since Klopp took charge and with a lack of forward options you wonder when these issues will be resolved.

A comfortable cup win over Exeter on Wednesday may have papered over the cracks but it’s a return to winning ways in the league which is required for Liverpool and Carrow Road could well be the place for it to happen. Liverpool tend to do well their as of late but thankfully for Norwich Luis Suarez has long since departed for Barcelona. The Uruguayan seemed to chip in with a standard hat-trick everytime these two teams played each other

Will Liverpool face the same problems on Sunday with all the creativity but no end product – Roberto Firmino seems to be a big game player but for Liverpool to be fired up the league they need him to turn it it on week in, week out. Although with him being played out of position it is a bit of an unfair ask for the player they signed for £29m from Hoffenheim last Summer.

Much will depend on whether Norwich’s new Defender’s can bed in quickly, I think the visit of Liverpool maybe too much for them this Lunchtime. I will put my Money on an away win.
