Nai bother as Everton Forward passes Medical at Norwich

Norwich have signed the Everton Striker Steven Naismith for a fee set to be believed at £8.5million. The 29 year old was seemingly in demand with fellow Premier League side Swansea also reported to be chasing his signature. But the pull of linking up with a fellow Scot in Alex Neil only with more regular First Team Football proved to be the deciding factors in securing the Ex Rangers player’s signature.

It was believed that a deal was in place as early as December but there were a couple of setbacks including injury to Naismith and the player himself wanting time to assess the potential options but in the end Norwich have won through and they will be hoping his goals can keep The East Anglia side up this season.

The Canaries currently find themselves 16th in the Premier League table and 4 points from safety but they’ve lost their last two league matches and Alex Neil is already a Striker lighter than when he started the season with the departure of Lewis Grabban to Bournemouth. Admittedly Grabban was only a fringe player but Naismith will undoubtedly be given more game time in a bid to make sure their form and league position doesn’t drop further.

As for Everton with the departure of Naismith they will look to use the funds to secure the signing of Dynamo Kiev’s Ukrainian starlet Andriy Yarmolenko. The 26 year old has long been linked to Everton and came to their attention when he played a big part in knocking them out of the Europa League last season. Whether they can complete the deal and fight off other Premier League interest before the end of the Month still remains to be seen.
