In England we complain about the season going on too long, well spare a thought for the players in the Segunda Division in Spain whose are still playing. In what has been a monster campaign only finishes tonight when the 2nd leg of the promotion playoffs takes place between Getafe and Tenerife
Tenerife go into the 2nd leg with a 1-0 advantage but Getafe will look to make full advantage of playing at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez just outside Madrid. It had been an arduous campaign and whoever does get promoted to La Liga will only have a short break before pre-season plans in the top flight have to be made.
So it is fair to say whoever does progress this evening will be playing catch up on their La Liga counterparts but undoubtedly whichever manager does achieve promotion will no doubt be delighted that all their hard work is rewarded with the prospect of playing the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid.
