Gervinho doesn’t get to the Helicopter

In one of the more bizarre transfer stories you will read this week, Gervinho’s move out of Roma has collapsed because of his outrageous demands.

Initially it was thought that wages had been the issue as a £10m fee between Roma and Al Jazira had been agreed for the 28-year-old.

But now, Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that the Ivorian instead was making excessive demands in order for the move to go through.

Gervinho is said to have wanted a helicopter at his disposal, a house for his family, a private beach and unlimited plane tickets to the Ivory Coast. Yes that’s right a HELICOPTER!

Those demands forced the deal to collapse and Gervinho has now returned to Rome after turning down Al Jazira’s offer of £85,000-a-week.

Could a return to Lille be on the cards and a link up with ex Ivory Coast Manager Herve Renard – the only problem is I’m not sure they will have enough in the budget for a chopper. But I suppose it’s nice work if you can get it.
