Both these sides tasted success in Midweek. Everton with their 3rd win in 4 matches while West Ham threw a massive spanner in the works for Tottenham’s title hopes as they won the last ever encounter between the two sides at Upton Park.
The win for Everton at Villa Park on Tuesday eases the pressure slightly on Roberto Martinez as the new shareholder Farhad Moshiri watches from on high. He’ll have to make sure his Everton side finish higher than 11th to make sure he is still in charge to spend the allotted extra funds in the Summer.
As for West Ham that win on Wednesday sees them stay in 6th place but more importantly just a point off of Manchester City in 4th. Slaven Bilic said that the prospect of West Ham getting a Champions League place seems unrealistic but on Wednesday’s performance and current form I certainly wouldn’t rule it out.
I fancy West Ham to heap more pressure on the Manchester sides with a win on Merseyside this Afternoon. The Hammers look at a European Road Map for next Season while Everton could be looking for a new Manager. Away win for me.
