It’s the passing of the torch this Afternoon at Stamford Bridge with last season’s champions playing host to this. Can Leicester continue their party with victory on the road or can Chelsea have one last hurrah under their guidance of outgoing Interim Manager Guus Hiddink
Chelsea will have to do so without Captain John Terry who is out through suspension after his sending off last weekend. Many felt that the sending off at Sunderland would be his last appearance in Chelsea colours but with the news that he has been offered in a new contract albeit in a different role means that might not necessarily be the case,
Last time out they threw away all 3 points at Anfield thanks to Christian Benteke’s late header in front of The Kop. The highlight of the game was most definitely Eden Hazard’s fantastic strike to give Chelsea the lead. It must be frustrating for Chelsea fans to see the Belgian’s season only start in May.
If Hazard’s season has started in May then Leicester probably don’t want there’s to finish. The King Power was rocking last week as they ran out 3-1 winners at home to Everton there was certainly no hangover from winning the title 5 days previous thanks to their opponents Today holding Tottenham to a Draw
The only battle left for Leicester is a personal one and that is the race for The Golden Boot between Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane. Vardy currently sits one behind Kane with 24 goals to his England team mate’s 25. It should have been level going into the final day but Vardy blazed his second spot kick of the day over the bar last Saturday to keep him on Kane’s coat tails
Claudio Ranieri makes a return to the club which sacked him in 2004 and he would no doubt love to get one over his former employers and to be fair I doubt any Chelsea fans would begrudge him that. Guus Hiddink will obviously want to go out on a high after his second spell in charge ends but I think Leicester are going to want this a little bit more. An away win for me.
