Atletico Madrid did find themselves top of La Liga for a few hours at least thanks to their slender win over cross city rivals Rayo Vallecano. With them playing before Barcelona yesterday they had the chance to apply some pressure on Luis Enrique’s side.
And they did exactly that thanks to Antoine Griezmann’s winner. The French Forward came off the bench to get the goal which was the difference between the two sides. Once again it’s a 1-0 win at The Vicente Calderon as Atletico’s imperious home form continues. They find themselves second by virtue of the head to head tiebreaker and will be waiting to pounce if Barcelona slip up.
