- Zinedine Zidane’s unbeaten record as Real Madrid Manager continues with an impressive win in the Italian Capital
- This was also Zidane’s first foray into Europe as a Coach and a return to the country where he won 2 Serie A Scudetto.
- In a night where domestic honours seemed to slip further away with Barcelona 7 points clear, An 11th Champions League crown is certainly a possibility
- Madrid were certainly made to work for their win but the difference in quality shone through
- Cristiano Ronaldo added another goal to his tally of Champions League strikes, his deflected opener putting Real in front
- The goal from Ronaldo was almost the perfect reply to the questions he faced regarding Barcelona’s attack. Questions that saw him up and leave the press conference
- Roma did come back at them though with Edin Dzeko having arguably their best chance but his effort hit the side netting
- The Italian side seemed to throw everything at Real but just couldn’t seem to break them down
- 1-0 to Real wouldn’t have been the worst result for Roma but Jese’s late second has put the Madrid side firmly in charge in terms of the tie and look the likely favourites to move into the Quarter Finals
