Liverpool vs Stoke a few quick thoughts

- Well that was a tough watch, for a Semi Final it didn’t quite live up to expectations
- Although if you were a Liverpool Fan your heart has probably had enough of Football after last night’s Penalty Drama and the 9 Goal Thriller at Carrow Road on Saturday
- Jurgen Klopp’s side will no doubt be grateful that they had the slender advantage from the first leg as on last night’s performance they didn’t really deserve to go through
- Marko Arnautovic’s Goal was Offside, but he did what all good Forwards do and put the ball in the back of the net and worried about the decision later and for that he was rewarded
- Alberto Moreno had a torrid first half as John Walters ran him ragged and Stoke were unfortunate not to be ahead before the stroke of Half Time
- Liverpool came back into it in the second half as they had a bit more urgency about them, with Firmino striking the woodwork
- Jordon Ibe was thrown on in Extra Time to try and utilise his pace to get at Stoke with James Milner dropping back to Right Back
- At this point it was quite a patched up Defence with Milner at Right Back and Lucas at Centre Back
- Marco Van Ginkel and Jordon Ibe both had chances to snatch it in Extra Time but you could tell both sides were looking leggy
- Then it came down to the lottery of Penalties, it was harsh on Stoke but there always has to be a loser in situations but as always great fun for the neutral watching at home
- Simon Mignolet managed to redeem himself for the earlier criticism by saving two spot kicks and being the hero last night
- Jurgen Klopp preserves his record of never losing a Penalty Shoot Out as Liverpool await who they will face in the Capital One Cup Final on Sunday 28th February
