Champions League:
Manchester City vs Real Madrid
Atletico Madrid vs Bayern Munich
Probably not quite the draw that Manchester City wanted but there was never going to be an easy tie at this stage of the competition. That means we could have an all Madrid final for the second time in three years where Atletico will look to exact revenge for the heartbreak of their 2014 defeat while Pep Guadiola facing his new employers in the Final is still a very real possibility.
Cristiano Ronaldo makes a return to Manchester – although not quite in the way United fans would want. Can City stop them and go all the way to the final they will have their work cut out but the quicker they can secure a Top 4 place then they can focus solely on their Champions League run. By getting this far they have a good chance of winning it as anyone else
Europa League:
Villarreal vs Liverpool
Shakhtar Donetsk vs Sevilla
Liverpool will be happy with that draw especially as they have avoided a nightmare trip to Ukraine. That and the fact they have the 2nd leg at home, where after last night’s evidence could be a massive boost. With them just 3 games away from Champions League Football the sole focus will undoubtedly be on this competition, so don’t expect too much from their last 7 Premier League encounters. But if you are a Liverpool then it’s a no brainer really to try and go for the big prize of top level European Football next season.
Holders Sevilla won their all Spanish clash against Athletic Bilbao on Penalties last night and their bid to win a trio of Europa League titles is still very much alive, they travel to Donetsk for the first leg and will hope that they can get at least a crucial away goal from their trip to The Donbass Arena. My money is on a Liverpool vs Sevilla final

Man City finish 5th and win the Champions League
Liverpool win the Europa League
Man United finish 4th – no Champions League
That would be an absolute nightmare for United, where finishing in the Top 4 may be all in vein. They will be hoping their old hero Cristiano Ronaldo does them a massive favour otherwise it’s going to be a very nervy few weeks for the red half of Manchester.
