Real Football Man All of the Football, All of the time
14th plays 15th in this encounter this Afternoon, West Brom have already reached the 40 point mark while Watford need a couple more points to kill off any lingering worries that Premier League safety won’t be secured that said they have more than likely done enough so this game is going to be somewhat of an exhibition I would imagine.
West Brom have got nothing to play except perhaps trying to secure Tony Pulis a new contract (maybe there’s a reason not to win if you are Saido Berahino) after looking like the season was going to end in relative mid table a run of 3 games without a win has seen them slump down the table.
Last time out they shook Manchester City with an early goal at The Etihad but City’s class ran true and they came from behind to hand out a 2-1 defeat to The Baggies. It was a spirited performance but it was all to typical of a Pulisesque park the bus away from home kind of game.
Their opponents Watford will be incredibly glad that their form in 2015 was a lot better than that of the turn of the year as these last few games could have been a much more nervy proposition. It’s now 6 games without a win for The Hornets with the lofty heights of 6th a long way away now.
Last time out they ended a run of 4 defeats in a row with a point at home to Everton. Even though their form has taken a nosedive if you were to ask any Watford fan at the start of the season then they would have undoubtedly bit your arm off at the thought of 15th and not forgetting a F.A. Cup Semi Final around the corner.
I have a feeling this will be last on Match Of The Day as there is nothing for these two sides to play for, I wouldn’t even be surprised if it was a bore draw.
