Valencia got their first win under the stewardship of Pako Ayestaran yesterday with victory over Europa League winners Sevilla. Many people would have made Sevilla the favourites going into the game but as Ayestaran looks to get a couple more wins just to make sure Valencia don’t go down this season, this result was a step in the right direction.
A late goal from Alvaro Negredo was the winner after Dani Parejo put Valencia on the scoresheet earlier on in the game. The Neville era seems so far away so soon.
