Unofficial Football World Championship – Chile 2 Colombia 0

UFWC holders and last year’s Copa America winners Chile will be looking to do the double on Sunday night as they booked their place in the final and more importantly held onto their UFWC crown in the early hours of the morning after seeing off the challenge of Colombia in their first title defence

If you are reading this from the south of England then you would have had your own fair share of rain troubles as of late but that’s nothing compared to the goings on at Soldier Field in Chicago. The game had to be suspended for two hours thanks to an electric storm.

The scenes were farcical as by half-time the players were knee deep in water while spectators were now worrying for their own safety as lightning swirled overhead

But the show did go on and Chile will now look to repeat their Copa America success of last Summer and to do that they will once again have to beat Argentina in the final.

After their 7 goal rout over former holders Mexico in the Quarter Finals both 4 goal hero Eduardo Vargas and Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez failed to get on the scoresheet this time around. Instead the goalscoring duties were left to Charles Aranguiz and Jose Pedro Fuenzalida.
Charles Aranguiz scored with a close-range volley in the seventh minute, and Jose Fuenzalida added a second from a rebound in the eleventh minute.

A comfortable route into the final in the end while Colombia have to make do with a 3rd/4th place play off against hosts United States on Saturday night. Can Chile go on to win another Copa America/UFWC double or will Argentina pick up a 5th title reign in just three years. We will find out in the early hours of Monday morning.

Here is all you need to know from last night
