Former Everton midfielder Tim Cahill has signed a short-term deal with Chinese side Hangzhou Greentown.
Cahill, who had his contract with Shanghai Shenhua terminated last week, said the deal was an “amazing opportunity”.
After having his contract terminated last week there was speculation as to where Cahill could go next with a return to Australia and the A-League being a potential option. Even at 36 there would be no shortage of suitors for the former Everton Midfielder.
The return back home won’t be happening just yet as Cahill has decided to stay in China for minimum disruption. He has signed a 5 month contract with the club so who is to say a move may still happen later in the year.
