Liverpool are set to sign their second Defender this week with the announcement that Joel Matip will join the club from Schalke on a Free Transfer. The 24 year old Cameroon International who can play in either Defence or Midfield has been allowed to discuss terms with non German based clubs since the start of the Month and has agreed a deal in principle to link up with Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season
Liverpool’s opponents last night Arsenal have also been active in the Transfer Window with Arsene Wenger announcing the signing of Mohamed Elneny from Basle. The 23 year old Egyptian Midfielder will be a welcome addition to an area which has been hit hardest by injuries this season. He is reported to have joined for a fee of £5m and could make his debut away at Stoke this Weekend.
Roma have been quick to replace Rudi Garcia who was sacked Yesterday with the announcement that Luciano Spalletti will be returning for a second stint as Manager in his previous stint he won Two Coppa Italias but has been out of work since 2014 after being sacked by Zenit St Petersburg. Spalletti will be charged of trying to revive Roma’s season which has seen them slip away from the title race and running the risk of not making the Champions League next seaon.
