Real Madrid are now at the La Liga summit after a very comfortable home win over Osasuna yesterday. The biggest headline from this game would have been the return of Cristiano Ronaldo and it only took him 6 minutes to get back on the scoresheet.
After his early opener Los Blancos never looked back as they surged into a 5-0 lead with 5 different goalscorers. Weirdly it was three quarters of the back four who got the next three goals to make it 4-0 with Danilo, Pepe and Ramos all getting in on the act.
Luka Modric would wrap up the scoring for Zinedine Zidane’s side as they cruised to victory. At that point it’s fair to say they took their foot off the gas as Osasuna did get two consolation strikes with Oriol Riera and David Garcia pulling two goals back.
Perfect preparation for Real as they embark on their defence of the Champions League crown in midweek.
