Real Football Man has a new signing

With it being January and everyone in a rush to add to their squads, I thought I would do the same and I can now confirm my new signing Russ Vernon. Russ will be starting a new series next Wednesday called ‘A View From The Championship’ where he will be giving a weekly view on all of the going’s on in England’s second tier.

So thanks to Russ for coming on aboard and here is a full introduction from the man himself:

Good evening all, I’m Russ who is a big massive Leeds United fan and I have completed a media course at college and have done a few bits and bobs of journalism work.

I have covered a number of games from the Premier League to International Football and also covered a big La Liga game the El Clasico back in 2014 for my own website in which FC Barcelona beat Real Madrid 4-3 with Lionel Messi scoring a hat-trick for Luis Enrique’s men.

I have also written for a number of websites such as Football League World covering everything from Sky Bet Championship to Sky Bet League Two, Written blogs for a football talk show called Pitch Talk in which i reviewed the games from the past weekend and also blogs on my trips to Wembley to watch England games and a La Liga match.

I have covered a number of news stories that have broken from the footballing world on my own website and I have also interviewed a number of footballers from the mens and womens game such as former West Brom and Stoke City striker Peter Odemwingie about his career so far during his spell at Sky Bet Championship basement club Rotherham United, I’ve also interviewed some Leeds Ladies players, manager and chairman and done an interview with a couple of Hartlepool United Ladies players.

During my studies at college I have twice been in the press box at Rotherham United, first time I was shadowing the local paper reporter and see how things work and the second time I was working in the press box as part of my college course covering Rotherham United vs Huddersfield Town and after the game I recorded the press conference with Neil Warnock and then I interviewed Kirk Broadfoot about the season so far.

I have done journalism on my own site since December 2010 and started with a number of match reports, match previews, news stories and written for quite a few different sites on different matches.

Thanks Russ and I look forward to seeing your debut piece next week.

So that’s my new siging for The Championship but I’m still looking for views from other leagues from both home and abroad.
