Real Football Man is 1 year old Today

It’s celebration time here at Real Football Man as the blog is 1 year old Today and what a year it has been. Truth be told when I started the blog back in 2015 I thought I would probably lose interest after a few months but it’s been far from that.

Over 1700 articles have been written myself in a space of a year, at times it’s been painstaking and tiring but once you get into the momentum and get into a good routine then it becomes second nature. Yes I’ve had to fit in articles at some ungodly hours but I would like to think it’s now starting to pay dividends.

In this year the blog has seen over 75,000 page views which is far more than I could have ever imagined. I’ve also got some paid writing gigs of the back of starting the blog, which was the first target. I would have been happy with just being paid for one article but now I feel I’m definitely in a position to expand my contacts and offer my writing services out on a wider scale.

I’ve also been inviting onto Podcasts on a near weekly basis, so a big thanks must go to the guys at V2 Football for having me on board and now that I’ve taken the time to migrate to a self hosting blog then it will open up the possibility of exploring new revenue streams.

Due to the sizeable audience the blog has developed, companies and brands now what to position themselves on the blog and I feel that is a sign of the success that I have created over the past year and this is certainly an avenue I want to explore further

Some on which I have already touched on but haven’t quite devoted the time to sorting properly as ultimately the main focus is to make sure the blog continues what I would like to think it’s consistent standard of quality while continuing the level of quantity that is available to you readers.

So that’s Year 1 in the books, what now for Year 2? – Well I want to grow the blog even further and make it an even bigger operation and ultimately a bigger success. As a near one man band (I must not forget the people who have offered Guest Articles since the start of the year) I’m literally at the extremes of my spare time especially with a full time job so I would like to create a network of guest publishers who wouldn’t be doing my work for me but could assist and further enhance the blog. That’s just an idea but I feel it’s time to really push this forward

That’s just one of the ideas I have and I think I’m going to allow myself at the end of the season the chance to take stock and assess how the blog can be grown even further. So for the next 6 weeks or so it will be business as usual and then hopefully we can be even bigger in the 2016/17 season.

To anyone who has read the blog even if it’s one article it means a great deal and thanks to people who have supported me throughout the year. A big shout out must go to my blog partners which you can find in a separate link on the home page. Please click on the links and give them some deserved traffic also.

As me for it never stops because it’s All of the Football, All of the Time

Here is to the next year and more success!
