Premier League Transfer Round Up

Norwich City have made their second signing of the January Transfer Window as Croatian Defender Ivo Pinto joins from Dinamo Zagreb. Arsenal fans may find the name familiar as he faced them earlier this season in the Champions League. Pinto will be tasked with shoring up the Canaries Defence and joins Matt Jarvis whose switch was made permanent before the New Year.

Sunderland have also purchased a new Defender in the form of Bayern Munich’s Jan Kirchhoff. The 25-year-old, who has Champions League experience with Bayern, has signed an 18-month contract and joins for an undisclosed fee. Sam Allardyce has been looking for new personnel at the back especially with Younes Kaboul out injured.

The signing of the German Defender would probably point as to why the potential deal for Lorient’s Lamine Kone has broken down. Sam Allardyce went on record yesterday to confirm that the negotiations were finished. So Allardyce gets his first new face in at Sunderland but I doubt that will be the last of his January shopping.

While Everton have signed Swiss Striker Shani Tarashaj from Grasshoppers Zurich, costing £3m. The Forward won’t link up with Everton straight away as he will be loaned back to the club so that he can fulfill his National Service duties. This is Roberto Martinez’s second piece of business after purchasing Matthew Foulds from Bury.
