No Hassel as QPR set to Baink on new Manager

QPR look set to name Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink as their new Manager in the next couple of days after Burton Albion acceped an approach from the Championship Club.

Burton currently sit top of League One by two points and look set to lose a second manager to a Championship side in just over a year. The 43 year old Dutchman has only been in charge of Burton since November after taking over from Gary Rowett who departed to Birmingham but in that time he has already led the club to promotion of out League Two.

QPR haven’t had the best starts to the season as they look to bounce back from Premier League relegation straight away and after sacking Chris Ramsey in November are now looking for a permanent replacement while previous incumbent Neil Warnock presides over day to day matters in an advisory role.

For Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink it looks like his rise up the leagues is set to continue but it’s surely disappointment for Burton Albion fans who will no doubt feel that the ex Leeds and Chelsea is leaving the task of back to back promotions halfway though but I’m sure they won’t stand in his way and will wish him every success at Loftus Road

Hasselbaink has won 33 of his 54 games in charge of the Brewers and has been on the radar of a few bigger clubs recently as the managerial merry go round begins to pick up pace, therefore it was only going to be a matter of time before he made the step up. Can he accelerate his rise through the leagues and gain promotion with QPR, it won’t be an easy task but I think the R’s could certainly do with a period of stability and hopefully they’ve got the right man to give them that.
