Real Football Man All of the Football, All of the time
Juventus are once again dominating Italian football and although that comes as no real surprise they certainly raised a few eyebrows when beating Barcelona 3-0 in the Champions League Quarter Final 1st Leg last week. Bar a PSG style capitulation on Wednesday they look more than likely to progress to the Semi’s.
Not only that though but they are on course for an incredible 6th straight Serie A title, does this point to it simply being a one horse race in Italy or is it a strong league that is unfortunate enough to have to go up against an irresistible Juventus side.
The work that Antonio Conte started has been carried on by Massimo Allegri and has been done so without the Turin side even missing a step. At present they find themselves 8 points clear of nearest rivals Roma with just 6 games to go, it’s not a matter of if they win the title but when they do so.
Saturday saw them win 2-0 at Pescara, with Gonzalo Higuain capturing a brace of goals. It was almost as if Juventus has won the title this season when they captured the signing of the Argentina international for a £70m+ transfer fee. But if you can strengthen your squad by making a rivals weaker then it is certainly money well spent.
