You may have seen the post I did earlier in the week in regards to Football INDEX and the fact that you can now play the stock market with footballers instead of shares, there’s been a buzz of interest and people have asked questions as to how it works exactly so I though it would make sense to prepare an FAQ for any new investors
Football INDEX is a test of your footballing judgement and gives you the opportunity to trade footballers that you are passionate and knowledgeable about.

We understand that trying something new can often be a bit daunting, so to help you through the early stages of being a football trader we’ve got some great tips for you…
BUYING:
You can buy ANY of the 200 players that are on the 1st Team list.
There is no limit to the amount of shares you can buy in one player however you can only buy a maximum of 100 in one transaction.
The aim of the game is to apply simple trading principles to the world of football – so buy low and sell high!
SELLING:
You can always sell instantly up to 100 shares at the published sell price minus the 2% commission.
You may be able to achieve a better sell price if you join the sell queue, however you will have to wait for a buyer. In this option you will also pay 2% commission on sales offered to market.
For the quickest and simplest sell experience we recommend the instant sell option.
THE BUZZ:
The Football Buzz aggregates 25 UK football news feeds in real time to score our Footballers according to their daily press coverage. This method allows us to generate a daily winner, that is the trending Footballer who is talked about in the most positive light that day.
The Footballer with the highest score at midnight each day is the daily winner of the Football Buzz. All Futures held in the winning Footballer receive a £0.05 Dividend payout.
The Buzz does not directly influence the price of the players. Player prices only move when people either buy or sell a player.
THE SQUAD:
Every Friday the two players with the most votes at 9am will be promoted into the First Team. You receive 5 ‘Up’ votes and 3 ‘Down’ votes every day. The promoted players will then join the First Team at a starting price of £0.25 at 1pm and 1:15pm.
These players will replace the 2 players in the 1st Team who are of least value. They will get relegated at 9am with all futures becoming null and void.
This is a great time to spot the hidden gems and add them to your portfolio!
