Filippo Inzaghi sacked by A.C. Milan

AC Milan have sacked Filippo Inzaghi after just one season in charge at the San Siro

Inzaghi, 41, who played for Milan from 2001 until his retirement in 2012, replaced former team-mate Clarence Seedorf in the post last June.

Milan finished in 10th place in Serie A after only 13 wins in 2014-15, and were 35 points behind champions Juventus. With that it meant there would be no European Football for the second season in a row.

Former Serbia coach Sinisa Mihajlovic, who left his post as Sampdoria boss this month, confirmed two days ago  he would be taking over at Milan.

“Filippo Inzaghi has been discharged of his responsibilities as first team coach,” the club said in a statement.

After retiring as a player, former striker Inzaghi became youth-team coach before leaving that role to succeed Seedorf, who only lasted five months in the role.

AC Milan who have won 18 Serie A titles and seven European Cups will now have their 4th Manager in 18 months can the Serbian Sinisa Mihajlovic be the man to wake the sleeping giant and get them competing near the top of Serie A again?.
