F.A. Cup 4th Round Best Of The Rest – Match Preview

With 11 matches taking place Today, I don’t unfortunately have time to cover all the matches, so apologies if your side has not got a more in depth preview. The good news though is that if you are a fan of Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea, Manchester City and of course their respective opponents then you can find a preview on the website.

So with those sides covered let’s have a brief run through the rest of the matches this Afternoon

Lincoln vs Brighton

Lincoln will look to claim a second Championship scalp as they play host to table toppers Brighton. After already disposing of Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich they will have Chris Hughton’s side next on the agenda. It was at Sincil Bank that the giant killing in the previous round took place so you can’t rule out lighting striking twice.

Burnley vs Bristol City

Burnley play host to Bristol City at Fort Knox otherwise known as Turf Moor and will be hoping that their home form extends to another win this Afternoon. They took two attempts to get past Sunderland in the previous round with the original encounter at The Stadium Of Light being one of the worst games in the history of Football. Let’s hope this offering is better

Blackburn vs Blackpool

A Lancashire derby at Ewood Park so that should make for a relatively decent atmosphere. For Blackburn it’s a welcome distraction from their battle to stay in The Championship while for Blackpool they will be looking for a second scalp at this level after beating Barnsley in the previous round.

Middlesbrough vs Accrington Stanley

John Coleman brings his Accrington Stanley side to The Riverside Stadium hoping to produce one of the cup shocks of the weekend. With Aitor Karanka’s men suffering an aversion to scoring goals then should Stanley get their noses in front then they may just make life difficult for ‘Boro

Oxford vs Newcastle

Michael Appleton’s Oxford have got a bit of cup pedigree as of late with Swansea coming unstuck here at The Kassam Stadium in recent years. They will hope to add another upset to the history books when Rafa Benitez brings his promotion chasing Newcastle to town. Newcastle needed two attempts to get past Birmingham in Round 3 they will be hoping it’s not the same case this Afternoon.

Rochdale vs Huddersfield

A War Of The Roses clash this Afternoon as Rochdale play host to Huddersfield. Keith Hill’s men made easy work of Barrow in the previous round but they will have a tougher test when David Wagner brings his Huddersfield side to Spotland.

Southampton vs Arsenal

The final game of the day sees EFL Cup finalists Southampton play host to Arsenal looking for two cup victories in the space of 3 days. Claude Puel’s men will certainly have their tails up but with Arsenal’s propensity for late goals recently then nothing is concluded until the final whistle.
