Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew says Yannick Bolasie is in contention to play despite speculation linking him with Everton.
James Tomkins, Bakary Sako and Fraizer Campbell are injured, while Pape Souare and James McArthur will be monitored.
West Brom striker Saido Berahino is available despite reported interest from Stoke and Palace.
James Morrison and Chris Brunt are out injured but summer signing Matt Philips could make his Baggies debut.
For Palace they will once again look to start the season brightly as they did 12 months ago but a good start is even more important after their terrible run of form in 2016. If it wasn’t for such a decent start then their Premier League status could have been even more at stake.
Getting to the F.A. Cup Final would have papered the cracks to a certain degree but the pressure will be on Alan Pardew to revive a Palace team that looks short on goals. Their attempts to sign a striker have been thwarted all Summer but Pardew will still hope to sign Liverpool’s Christian Benteke before the end of the month.
For West Brom goals were also hard to come by last season and they themselves have had problems in regards to bagging a new forward. They were very close to completing the signature of Diafra Sakho but he failed a medical and the move from West Ham subsequently collapsed.
With new Chinese owners installed at The Hawthorns the funds are there for Tony Pulis to spend but he must also be weary that if West Brom get off to a bad start then the new owners may move to protect their investment and look to bring in a new manager.
Palace can look forward to giving new signing Andros Townsend his debut and he will look to inject his pace into the South London side and it’s that pace which could very well give them the edge Today. I’m going to go for a home win at Selhurst Park this Afternoon.
