BBC Gossip Column Debunked – Issue 26

Monday evening, we’ve made it. The first working day of the week is in the history books and the best way to relax is by feeding on a small but wholesome portion of transfer rumours. He is my latest (and late being the operative word) batch of gossip debunking

Gossip in standard font, my thoughts are in bold

Chelsea are preparing to offer around £70m for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, 24. (AS) This comes as no real surprise as the move for Romelu Lukaku never come to fruition, Morata is ready to depart and Stamford Bridge could be the perfect escape route

Inter Milan midfielder Ivan Perisic, 28, is already planning for life at Manchester United and expects to move to Old Trafford before the end of the transfer window. (Manchester Evening News) This one has been dragging its heels for quite a while now and the status changes from on to off to on again, we will have to wait and see with this one.

Swansea City midfielder Jack Cork is in talks with Burnley about a proposed £10m transfer to the Lancashire club.(Daily Mirror) Makes a change from signing Stoke players I suppose

Newcastle have made an enquiry to Middlesbrough about signing forward Adama Traore, 21. (Chronicle) £20m supposedly is required if Newcastle are to land Traore, like I said the other day if he had a footballing brain to match his pace he would be incredibly dangerous

Crystal Palace are set to sign Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek, 21, on a season-long loan. (Daily Telegraph) Another Chelsea youngster who is finding his route to the first team blocked, therefore a loan move away seems the logical conclusion. There is still time to make a foothold in West London but every time he is loaned elsewhere those chances begin to diminish
