So after Ancelotti, Allardyce, Bilic, Clough, Di Matteo and McClaren have all left their clubs in the past two days you can now be set to add Slavisa Jokanovic to the list as his contract is set to expire at Watford without being renewed.
The sticking point seems to be that Jokanovic wants more money in a new contract to continue managing Watford next season where they will be one of three teams going up to the Premier League. If talks don’t come to fruition with the Serbian signing a new deal than ex Atletico Madrid coach Quique Flores looks set to take over and become Watford’s 5th manager in the space of just over a season.
Some outlets are already reporting this to be the case but I don’t think it’s quite been agreed yet.
Elsewhere there has already been some movement in the race for the Derby County job as Real Madrid Assistant Manager Paul Clement looks set to take over in the next few days. While still employed by Real Madrid it is expected that any new coach namely Rafa Benitez will be looking to bring in his own backroom staff therefore it will only be a matter of time before Clement would have to depart. With the Derby job becoming available yesterday it seems now is the perfect time for him to take up his first managerial post with the East Midlands side.
So with one door being closed at Derby another door is set to be opened at Watford, the managerial merry go round seems to have a fair few spins to come.
