3 players who could be moving to Swansea this month

Swansea’s sacking of Bob Bradley meant that the club were looking to appoint their third manager of the season. That task has now been given to Paul Clement with the former Bayern Munich assistant’s sole remit being that of survival.

Former boss Bob Bradley complained that he was not given the transfer window to get in the targeted players that he felt would turn the clubs fortunes around. With all pre-existing transfer plans now out the window, Clement has somewhat of a blank canvas as he looks to enhance the group of players he has already inherited.

Swansea have been accused of not replacing the players that have left over the past couple of seasons with a gradual decline now catching up with them in disastrous fashion but thankfully there is still just enough time to rectify that issue.

So with that said let’s now take a look at three players who could be making their way to The Liberty Stadium

Luciano Narsingh

Swansea’s stint in the Premier League was previously defined by neat free flowing attacking football, something which has seemingly evaded them this season. In a midfield unit that has been woefully under par only Gylfi Sigurdsson has come out of this campaign so far with any real credit.

But that could all change if they are able to capture the services of Luciano Narsingh from PSV. Narsingh who is a right winger but can also be utilised on the left is a Dutch international who represented his country at Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine.

The 26 year old has spent the last four season at PSV and in that time he has picked up two Eredevisie titles with the Eindhoven based club winning back to back titles during the past two season. In his time at the club he has scored 21 times in 109 appearances.

After being a near ever present in those two title winning seasons he has found first team football slightly harder to come by this time around and a move to the Premier League would not only present a new challenge but more importantly first team football.

Davie Selke

Another player that Swansea have got their eyes on is that of Davie Selke but they will have to join an ever growing list of potential suitors. That’s because Selke is not just on the radar of Premier League clubs but also of those on the continent.

The Red Bull owned club have been a revelation in the Bundesliga this season but Selke has played a very small role in that as he has managed just a solitary start this season. With his game time diminished the Bundesliga outfit now look prepared to let Selke leave the club on loan until the end of the 2016/17 campaign.

The forward who represented Germany at last year’s Rio Olympics was a key part in RB Leipzig’s promotion to the German top flight last season as he found the net on 10 occasions. But with this club aspiring to be part of Europe’s elite they subsequently added new faces to their squad and as a consequence Selke has found himself pushed down the pecking order.

With record signing Borja Baston failing to live up to the expectations that his price tag bought and Fernando Llorente failing to find the net with enough regularity then a loan deal for Selke could be the perfect addition to Swansea’s forward line.

Andrea Ranocchia

For all of Swansea’s faults in the first half of the season you would have to say that it’s their defence that has let them down the most. This will be an area that Neil Clement will have already identified as a top priority in which to improve and that could well be assisted by the capture of Andrea Ranocchia.

Swansea have been tracking the Inter Milan defender for a number of weeks now and have signaled him out to be the man to strengthen an ailing defence. The 28 year old has represented Italy on 21 occasions and was club captain of the San Siro side back in the 2014/15 season.

But Ranocchia’s role at the club has marginalised since then with a first team place no longer a guarantee for the Italian giants. With only 9 Serie A appearances to his name this season, Ranocchia will now consider moving on but a decision he will have to make is whether to try his hand in the Premier League or stay in Italy with Sassoulo also looking to capture his services.
