We are now down to the final four teams in this years AFCON tournament, the quarter final action whittled the competitors down from 8 to 4 as we reach the business end of the competition.

Liverpool fans will be somewhat pleased that Sadio Mane’s Senegal are out of the tournament and it was Mane himself who halted Senegalese progress after he missed the crucial spot kick with Cameroon after 2 hours of football without a goal.

While yesterday saw Herve Renard fail in his bid to win the competition with three different countries as his Morocco side were dumped out by Egypt. With Cameroon and Egypt booking their berths they are also joined by both Ghana and Burkina Faso in the final four.
