Qarabag vs Tottenham – Match Preview

I hope Tottenham don’t suffocate against Qarabag this evening (sorry). A win tonight will put them through to the knockout phases of the Europa League

They sit fifth in the Premier League following Sunday’s 4-1 win over West Ham. But with Chelsea on the horizon this Sunday an away trip to Azerbaijan isn’t probably the best of preparation. Still the form Tottenham are currently in they shouldn’t be looking for any excuses.

Mousa Dembele, Danny Rose and Kyle Walker are being rested, while Erik Lamela (groin), Nabil Bentaleb, Nacer Chadli and Alex Pritchard (all ankle) are out.

It would be ideal if we can get an early goal tonight and control the game. If we can do that and come through the game unscathed then we can quickly shift focus to Sunday’s visit of Chelsea. Also if we can qualify tonight it then gives us the luxury of resting players for the final group game at home to Monaco.

Tottenham should have enough in them to win this evening. A draw wouldn’t be the worst result, the more important thing is keeping personal fresh for Sunday I guess. But as ever COYS!
