Qarabag vs Tottenham – A few quick thoughts

Blimey this game reminded me why the Europa League can be such a tough watch at times
I suppose the most important thing is that we won and have qualified out of the group
The win last night gives us the luxury of resting players for the Monaco tie
On the balance of play I think we fully deserved the win, considering we hit the woodwork twice before the goal I think a draw would have been a bit harsh
A clean sheet although we weren’t really threatened. Thought Kieran Trippier had a decent game.
Harry Kane keeps this scoring run going – isn’t that 9 in 6 now. So much for the One Season Wonder tag
The only worry is that from Midfield onwards it was pretty much a full strength side. is that going to come back to bite us come Sunday. I’m sure Pochettino will have mulled this over but maybe a few more players could have been rested.
I suppose an early lead would have made the game more comfortable and allowed earlier subs but due to the goal not coming until late, I think the Manager’s hand was forced somewhat.
The focus shifts to Chelsea now, due to the lack of preparation time I would be happy with a draw but with the way we have been playing we have every right to be confident of getting all 3 points come Sunday.
