So after the 100% record last night with my opening set of blog tips, it is time to see whether that was beginners luck or if there’s any knowledge that can be imparted after the countless years of watching Football and the approximately 1.7million matches that I have watched (Ok that’s a slight exaggeration). But let’s get down to business and see what is on offer tonight.
Not a great deal to choose from so going to have to be creative if any real money is to be made tonight but these are my picks:
Real Madrid to beat Atletico Madrid – Now I know these two teams have already met 7 (Seven – for all you Vidiprinter fans reading) times this season and Real have only managed to score twice but every run has come to an end at some point and I feel tonight will be the night. Admittedly Real Madrid do have Modric and Bale out through injury but the stats actually suggest that they win more matches without them, in Bale’s case the 7 games he has been out injured they have won all 7. With a price of Evens on Betfair, I think this is too good to not follow up on.
Juventus to beat Monaco – After Juventus won the first leg 1-0 they should have enough firepower in them to repeat a similar scoreline here in Monte Carlo. Although Monaco have done well to get this far and disposed of Arsenal in the previous round, I think that was more down to Arsenal being masters of their own downfall at the Emirates as the 2nd leg between the two sides was much tighter and Arsenal nearly managed to get 3 goals they required to overturn the first leg defeat. But ultimately if Juventus can get their noses in front early then I think that will be all they need to advance to the Semi’s
Now that looks a bit on the thin side, but a £5 Double will return around £17 so again not a bad return and a good balance of Risk v Reward.
If you were feeling brave you could flesh it out by also adding Hibernian to beat Livingston but that’s Scottish Football and I really try to avoid betting on that but as they say a fool and his money is easily parted, so I will leave that decision up to you. Another side bet could be to Lay (bet against) Monaco not qualifying for the semi’s – that is currently at 6/1 which is a decent return.
But ultimately to recap my main tips tonight are:
Real Madrid to beat Atletico Madrid and Juventus to beat Monaco
Again these are just my suggestions, so I’m not imploring you to take my advice and re-mortgage the house but if you do then I wish you the best of luck! (but seriously don’t ever re-mortgage the house)
But aren’t real without Bale and Modric? I think Athletico may just nick it… Athletico 1 Madrid 0 for me.
Real Madrid have won every game when Bale has been injured (7 from 7) I think they will probably miss Modric more but ultimately I think tonight will be the night in which the break this run of not beating Atletico this season.
Didn’t know about the Bale part.
Anyway, we shall find out in due time, my friend.
