- Normal service was resumed with what ended up a comfortable win at White Hart Lane yesterday Lunchtime
- Although we start to great to be honest and when Patrick Van Aanholt put Sunderland in front I think a lot of us would have thought “here we go again”
- But we replied in the best possible fashion by equalising straight away thanks to Christian Eriksen’s first League goal since October
- Really need more of those performances from Eriksen between now and the end of the season if we are to sustain to this Top 4 place come May.
- Then a tactical masterstroke took place
- Not from Mauricio Pochettino but Sam Allardyce, his decision to go to 3 at the back was the turning point of the match and Spurs took full advantage
- Great to see Mousa Dembele not only back in the side but on the scoresheet also, once we were 2-1 up we never really looked back
- Jan Kirchoff’s debut was an awful one, not quite Jonathan Woodgate at Real Madrid levels but not a way to endear yourselves to the Sunderland faithful
- I think we needed the result more than the performance and to win 4-1 and not play all that well for the first 45 minutes is a decent return.
- More importantly we managed to shave the gap at the top to 5 points for now
- 2 Weeks left to sign a Striker, but if we crash out of The Cup on Wednesday maybe they will feel that don’t need the extra personnel.
- Crystal Palace up next and they haven’t scored a goal in 5 matches, hopefully they are there for taking on Saturday. COYS!
