- A routine win in the end for Arsenal as they progress to the Quarter Finals of The F.A. Cup
- It was almost the forgotten fixture with it’s 7pm Kick Off due to UEFA orders
- But the time didn’t have all that difference as Arsenal beat Hull for the third year in a row in this competition
- It ended a run of five games without a win in all competitions and will no doubt restore confidence to the North London side and ease the pressure on Arsene Wenger as of late
- Hull were in the game for large periods of the first half but contributed to their own downfall as David Meyler set up Oliver Giroud for Arsenal’s opener
- For the second game in a row Arsenal nearly scored an Own Goal but again lady luck was smiling as Aaron Ramsey luckily didn’t put through his own net
- Hull capitulated in the last 20 minutes conceding three to make the night a very comfortable one for the Cup holders
- Giroud getting his second of the night and then Theo Walcott getting a brace of his own to ease The Gunners into a Quarter Final tie with Watford
- The cup ties come thick and fast with their Premier League encounter against West Brom being postponed and now they will face Watford on Sunday
- This will create some fixture congestion for Arsene Wenger’s side, a situation that could worsen if they don’t manage to beat Watford in 90 minutes
- But the win has come at a price with injuries to Per Mertesacker, Gabriel and Aaron Ramsey
- There could be a real selection headache at Centre Back for the Weekend. How costly could these injuries prove to be
- Arsene Wenger will no doubt be sweating on the diagnosis of these three injuries
- As for Hull after being soundly beaten last night they now shift their sole focus to trying to return to the top flight. Although currently 4th in The Championship they do have two games in hand so getting automatic promotion is still very much in their hands
