Watford vs Norwich – Match Preview

Norwich’s Alex Tettey is set to return after a groin injury, while Russell Martin could feature after being an unused substitute against Arsenal.

On-loan winger Matt Jarvis remains sidelined with a knee injury.

Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes could play despite being stretchered off with a neck injury during the win at Aston Villa last weekend.

Sebastian Prodl and Joel Ekstrand are both still unavailable with calf and knee injuries respectively.

Editor’s Note: These two promoted sides face each other this afternoon at Vicarage Road after having varying starts to their Premier League campaigns. The home side Watford will be favourites in this clash due to the deadly duo of Odion Ighalo and Troy Deeney.

Their partnership caused misery for Aston Villa last weekend and it’s their goals that see The Hornets sit in the relative comfort of 11th position. A win for them today could see them move in the top half of the table

It won’t be particularly easy as they go up against a Norwich side who drew at home to Arsenal last Sunday but where Watford have been free flowing in attack, The Canaries have struggled in front of goal and would love a partnership like that of their own.

Alex Neil’s men have only won twice in the last ten matches and sit just 3 points above the relegation zone at present, although Norwich fans would probably be happy with that they still need to keep picking up points to keep the likes of Sunderland and Bournemouth at bay. Today though I think they will come away empty handed as I can’t see anything past a home win.
