Andre Ayew has an ankle injury and will miss Swansea’s home game against Aston Villa and his brother Jordan.
Jefferson Montero is available after illness, while head coach Francesco Guidolin returns to the dugout following a three-game absence with a chest infection.
Aston Villa midfielder Carlos Sanchez is fit after a two-month lay-off because of a hamstring injury.
Adama Traore and Jack Grealish won’t be available until next month.
Editor’s Note: Looking at the table and the amount of games left to play, you would imagine that Swansea will need two more wins to secure Premier League safety. They will look to get one of those two this evening against basement side Aston Villa.
Last time out Swansea lost not quite a do or die 6 pointer away at Bournemouth. It was a game where you felt that whoever won would then all but reach their objective. Unfortunately for Swansea they were on the wrong side of a 5 goal thriller at The Vitality Stadium.
Although disappointed to come away with at least a point last Weekend, Francesco Guidolin will now doubt be pleased by the upturn in performances as of late. As prior to the defeat away at Bournemouth they picked up vital back to back wins.
They go up against an Aston Villa side which is there for the taking this Evening. It’s now 9 points between them and safety. So that’s 3 wins, they’ve only won 3 games all season. It really is just a matter of time before the drawbridge is slammed shut and life in The Championship is a reality.
Last time out it was another defeat as title chasing Tottenham eased to another routine victory against Remi Garde’s side. You almost run out of ways to explain how bad the Aston Villa plight is, I think every element of their season has been covered. I think everyone just wants it over and done with now.
I reckon Swansea will enhance their chances of survival and diminish what chance Villa had with a win at The Liberty Stadium this evening. Safety for Swansea while misery for Villa A home win for me and Francesco Guidolin can say job done.
