Romania vs Spain in less than 3 minutes

Spain were held to the second draw in the space of a few days as they could only muster up a goalless draw away in Romania

Arguably a coupon buster if like me you were bored Yesterday and needed something to bet on – that will teach me not to bet on International Friendlies. Never mind lesson learned

After a 1-1 draw with Italy they failed to find the net last night which will no doubt give Vicente Del Bosque cause for concern as he now ramps up his preparations for EURO 2016 which starts in June

Spain lacked any real attacking threat and found Romania particularly difficult to break down. Spain obviously aren’t the side that won 3 major tournaments in a row from 2008 to 2012 but they will need to raise the performances if they are to have any chance of defending the European Championship they won in Ukraine back in 2012

The game saw a personal accolade for Iker Casillas as he won his 166th cap which is a record equalling amount for a European player, quite an astonishing feat when you come to think of it. His International career is now one that has spanned 16 years

Vincente Del Bosque made 10 changes from the side that drew with Italy earlier in the week with only Gerald Pique surviving the changes to also feature last night. It seems as if the supporting cast didn’t really pass their audition as the game petered out to a stalemate

As for Romania they will no doubt be pleased with a resolute performance at home. The draw now sees them extend their unbeaten run to 15 matches. This result will also give warning to the rest of Europe that Anghel Iordanescu’s said are not to be underestimated once EURO 2016 begins in anger.

Here is the best of the action from last night – admittedly there’s not a lot
