Rhodes closed as move to Middlesbrough breaks down

Middlesbrough’s move for Blackburn Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes has collapsed.

The two clubs Championship agreed a fee on Saturday which was thought to be about £9m, and the 25-year-old held negotiations with promotion-chasing Boro. But it seems the stumbling block was personal terms and that means the proposed move will not go ahead.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that Rhodes will stay at Blackburn as Brighton have been rumoured to be preparing a £9m bid of their own before the end of the Transfer Window Tomorrow evening. Blackburn have shown they are prepared to sell if the price is right, it will depend on whether Rhodes can agree a good enough wage to move on. Rovers fans will be hoping they can hold on to the key Goalscorer in the next 24 hours or so.
