Argentina’s World Cup Qualification campaign has not got off to the best of starts with an opening day defeat at home to Ecuador now coupled with a bore draw away in Paraguay this morning. It seems as if not having Lionel Messi in their side is proving to be a slight issue for The Albiceleste and the fact they are yet to register a goal in the campaign will heap some pressure on Manager Tata Martino.
Carlos Tevez and Angel Di Maria didn’t have a good night as they fluffed their lines in front of goal, while Lionel Messi’s replacement in the squad Erik Lamela only featured as a second half substitute and had little impact.
As if to make things worse they next face Brazil in November for their 3rd Qualifier and failure to win there could already cast them adrift of the qualifying places. It could be an interesting few weeks in Buenos Aires.
