Monday Transfer Roundup

The days in which the transfer window is open for are starting to run out and with that it means the opportunity to do transfer business is ever decreasing. With clubs looking to add those final new faces going into the last few months of the season they cannot afford to hold out much longer.

Today has seen not quite a flurry of activity but still some moves across Europe, so let’s have a quick rundown of what has happened across the continent.

Hull have signed Lazar Markovic on loan for the rest of the season from Liverpool, a signing that is much needed for The Tigers especially after Ryan Mason fractured his skull yesterday in that sickening clash of heads with Chelsea’s Gary Cahill.

Markovic was on loan at Sporting Lisbon but has failed to impress in Portugal this season and due to that the two clubs have agreed to cancel the loan by mutual consent. That meant that the 22 year old was free to move elsewhere and he will now call The KCom Stadium home for the remainder of the season.

Another loan signing has been completed but this time it’s out of the Premier League as Everton’s Gerard Deloufeu has signed for AC Milan until the end of the season. The Spaniard has fallen out of favour under Ronald Koeman and with first team football a rarity especially with Everton out of both cups it was felt that it would be best for the former Barcelona youngster to ply his trade elsewhere.

Whether Deloufeu will be welcomed back into the Goodison Park fold next season remains to be seen, the fact he has quite a nomadic career even at his young age would probably point to another move in the Summer as the 22 year old fails to live up to the potential he had when part of Barcelona’s academy.

And one for the future, although the future might be now as Borussia Dortmund have signed 17-year-old Sweden striker Alexander Isak from Swedish side AIK Solna. Isak is Sweden’s youngest ever goalscorer, having netted on his full debut against Slovakia on 12 January this year aged 17 years and 113 days, breaking a 105-year record.

While it’s double good news for Dortmund fans as long time Liverpool target Christian Pulisic has extended his contract at the club until 2020. The USA international has been tracked by Jurgen Klopp but any hopes of a move in the near future would have been dampened with this news.
