Melbourne Victory vs Atletico Madrid in less than 5 minutes

Melbourne Victory picked up their second victory of the International Champions Cup as they beat Atletico Madrid 1-0 in Melbourne.

Although taking nothing away from Melbourne’s victory (pun intended) the Atletico side was near unrecognisable to the one that beat Tottenham on Friday.

Diego Simeone put out a much more youthful side this time around with 7 academy players taking part during the game. 3

But unfortunately for Atletico they couldn’t celebrate the capture of Sevilla’s Kevin Gamiero for £29m earlier in the day as they fell behind to the hosts

Defender Nick Ansell headed home the only goal for Kevin Muscat’s side, who beat Italian champions Juventus on penalties last week.

That header was enough for Melbourne to run out winners
