Leicester vs Norwich – Match Preview

It was Valentines Day heartbreak for Leicester as they went down to Arsenal thanks to  a 94th Minute winner from Danny Welbeck at The Emirates. A huge win for Arsenal in the cruelest of circumstances and you wonder what effect that will have Claudio Ranieri’s side

The turning point of that game was arguably Danny Simpson’s sending off just before the hour, he will miss Today’s game through a subsequent suspension. Leicester thought they had held on but a needless Marcin Wasilewski foul in Injury Time gave Arsenal one last opportunity at Kasper Schmeichel’s Goal. One that duly didn’t pass up.

It was harsh on Leicester but let’s not forget they are still top of the table albeit with their lead now reduced to 2 points over both North London sides and that result could be the making of them as we now find out have they got the mettle to bounce back from that and continue their charge to a fairytale Premier League title.

That was Leicester first defeat since Boxing Day when they were beaten by Liverpool and just the third in the League all season. How key will the fact that two of them have come against Arsenal be come the second Weekend of May.

They will look to bounce back and consolidate there spot at the top of the table with a win over relegation battling Norwich. The Canaries haven’t won a game in 6 attempts and are only out of the drop zone thanks to their point at home to West Ham in their last outing.

Although for Alex Neil that will probably feel like 2 points dropped as his Norwich side gave away a 2-0 lead at Carrow Road to allow West Ham to get a share of the points. The fact they’ve conceded over a half century of Goals this season the joint highest along with Sunderland will be of a huge concern to Alex Neil as it looks like the Defensive personnel he bought in during the January Transfer Window haven’t been to quick to settle into the pace of the Premier League.

They are going to have to deal with that pace this Afternoon in the form of Jamie Vardy, his 19 Goals have fired Leicester to the top and he will be hoping he gets a round 20 against a leaky Canaries Defence, you certainly wouldn’t bet against it happening.

I think Leicester will get a key win over Norwich, one that not only gives them a 5 point gap for at least 24 hours but also shows everyone that their title tilt isn’t going to be hitting the skids anytime soon. A Home win for me
